Hello friends, I'm currently working on a creative writing project and I'd like to include Coptic words in my story.  If you can, please provide a romanized version of any of the words listed.  Thank you for your time.

ok for pronunciation I will use
(u) for short a as in run
(aa) for long a as in ran away
(a) for a as in jar
(w) for o as in vote
(o) for short o as in rod
(ou) for long o as in wood
(kh) as in german word Buch
j is pronounced as english j as in george

please not that this is all in Bohairic dialect, also pronunciation provided is as close as possible to the original pronunciation and it differes from the way the church pronounce it today

Ageptoc: u did a good job, but you used greek words instead of it Coptic equivilent

also regarding the common names:
be-sh(w)y the heigh one (male name)
p(a)(kh)(w)m the eagle (male name)
she-noud(aa) son of god [ sahidic word ] (male name)
(u)r(aa)-da Virtue (female name) [ not very common these days]
pim-(ou)(aa) the lion (male name)
ba-bnouda (of God, belongs to God)

Busiri is not familiar Egyptian name
are you sure it is not basili (which is more common)? if so it is a Greek name http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basil_%28name%29
otherwise I can not help since it is the first time I hear this name in my life

regarding to your story
