I am new, welcome me!!
« on: 09 May , 2010, 12:08:02 PM »
 How can I say:

Hello??

What is your name??

My name is...???

I love you???

Thanks???

Thanks for your time, and can I be sure that the words you tell me are 100% accurate???

Finally, let me understand this: Sahidic dialect is = to old Bohiric, and today's Bohiric is a modified form of Sahidic or original Coptic????!

So all of the hymns that we sing in the church are original Coptic or not????!!

Too many questions, I know !!!!!!!

God bless!

by checking a dictionary ?

Finally, let me understand this: Sahidic dialect is = to old Bohiric, and today's Bohiric is a modified form of Sahidic or original Coptic?Confused!
So all of the hymns that we sing in the church are original Coptic or not?Confused!!
Coptic had many dialects (Bohiric, Shaidic, Faiummic, Akhmimic, ....)
in the past each dialect was used in a specific region in Egypt
for example
people who lived in Faioum spoke Coptic in Faiummic Dialect
people who lived in north Egypt (near the sea) spoke Coptic in Bohairic Dialect
and so on
In the past when Coptic language was alive, each region prayed with their own dialect.
so churchs in north Egypt pray in Bohairic and churchs in south Egypt pray in Sahidic and so on
later when the language died the church used Bohairic as the only language used for praying
later after that the church started to CHANGE the pronunciation of the Coptic letters and (therefore) changing the bohairic dialect
the result is a new dialect (that was invented by the church), and this new dialect is now called Greeko Bohairic and is the dialect used by the church this days
