That is typical of old Bohairic pronunciation. I think the main issue with old Boahiric pronunciation,was political on both sides.
In 1858-1860: It was a political move to have union with the Byzantine Church, unity of pronunciation would make replacement of hymns easierIn 1968: Dr Emile Maher Ishak's proposal to teach Old Bohairic pronunciation was rejected as it might have shaken the position of certain Coptic lanuage teacher's in the church and its institutes.
The disagreements were not linguistic they were political at heart.
