Ⲛⲓⲙ ⲡⲉ `ⲛⲑⲟⲕ ?
Coptic Advocate 3:
ϯϣⲉⲡ̀ϩⲙⲟⲧ ̀ⲛⲧⲟⲧⲕ ⲉⲙⲙⲁϣⲟ ⲡⲓⲙⲟⲩⲓ
--- Quote ---It's either ⲡⲁⲣⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲧⲓⲙⲟⲑⲉⲟⲥ (literally means "my name is ⲧⲓⲙⲟⲑⲉⲟⲥ") or ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲡⲉ ⲧⲓⲙⲟⲑⲉⲟⲥ (literally means "I'm ⲧⲓⲙⲟⲑⲉⲟⲥ").
--- End quote ---
I think I've seen this construction before, where the possessive article is emphasised by the pronoun. It might be in the Midnight Praises, something like ⲧⲁⲡⲣⲟⲥⲉⲩⲭⲏ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ.
--- Quote ---ⲛ̀ is turned into ⲙ̀ when followed by ⲙ, ⲃ, ⲡ, ⲫ, or ⲯ. So it should be ⲙ̀ⲙⲏⲧ and not ⲛ̀ⲙⲏⲧ.
--- End quote ---
Of course! Rookie error.
--- Quote ---ⲕⲁϯ ⲉⲣⲟϥ should be ⲕⲁϯ ⲉⲣⲟⲥ because it refers to a feminine word (ϯⲙⲉⲧⲣⲉⲙ̀ⲛⲭⲏⲙⲓ).
--- End quote ---
Yes, yet again I should've known that.
--- Quote ---In Coptic, ⲕⲁϯ is verb "to understand", while ϭⲓⲥⲃⲱ is verb "to learn" from ϭⲓ "to take" and ⲥⲃⲱ "teaching" (i.e. to receive education).
--- End quote ---
ϬⲒⲤⲂⲰ of course! I knew ⲕⲁϯ was to understand but that was the closest I could get.
Thankyou so much for your feedback
ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲟⲩⲣⲉⲙaustralia, ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲧⲁⲙⲉⲧⲓⲱⲧ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ϩⲁⲛⲣⲉⲙ̀ⲛⲭⲏⲙⲓ ⲛⲉ.
ⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡϭⲟⲓⲥ,
ⲧⲓⲙⲟⲑⲉⲟⲥ
