Grammar question: Hail to Chronos
« on: 27 December , 2019, 08:04:08 AM »
I am trying to translate into Coptic, but I am stumped.  ⲭⲉⲣⲉ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲱ Ⲕⲣⲟⲛⲟⲥ ⲫϯ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ: ⲕⲓⲙ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲓⲥⲉⲣⲙⲏ ⲛ̀ϩⲁⲣⲡⲭⲟ: ⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲉ̀ⲛⲁϣ̀ⲗⲏⲗ (Hail to you Kronos,  God of time, who is the planet Saturn.  Hear my prayers). Is this a coherent sentence? Do you see any errors that need to be corrected?

I think I corrected it. Please tell me if it's wrong.

ⲭⲉⲣⲉ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲱ Ⲕⲣⲟⲛⲟⲥ ⲫϯ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ: ⲫⲏ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲥⲉⲣⲙⲏ ⲛ̀ϩⲁⲣⲡⲭⲟ ⲡⲉ: ⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲉ̀ⲛⲁϣ̀ⲗⲏⲗ (Hail to you Kronos,  God of time, who is the planet Saturn.  Hear my prayers).

The only correction I have would be ⲫϯ ⲛ̀ⲧⲉ ⲛⲁⲩThere are some vocabs that I am not familiar with like ⲡⲓⲥⲉⲣⲙⲏ, ϩⲁⲣⲡⲭⲟ but that could be due to my limited vocab
