Children's Audiobook
« on: 27 April , 2023, 12:28:20 PM »
I have already had a children's story I wrote about the 525 B.C. Battle of Pelusium translated into Coptic.

1) Would anyone here be willing to review the translation for errors please?

2) Would anyone be interested in voicing the audiobook of it?

In English, the text is only about 1700 words long. If you'd like to help or have any questions you don't want to ask here, you're welcome to send me a private message.

Thanks  :^^^

Hi Didymus,

If the story is free to read, how about posting it here. Instead of getting one reviews, you get many.
I for one would be happy to help.

Thanks Admin,

Eventually I plan to publish the text as a children's picture book so I would rather it not be indefinitely available online. Nonetheless, for the moment I am willing to share it in the hope of finding a narrator for the audiobook.

So, I've attached 3 files:
1) The original story in English (in Word)
2) The Coptic translation (as a PDF)
3) The Coptic translation (reformatted in Word)

Please note that I told the two translators that it was okay to make it a dynamic translation. That is, it doesn't need to be a strictly literal translation. (After all, it is only a children's book, not a legal document.) So if the translation reads a bit differently from the original, please don't worry too much, so long as the main ideas remain the same.

I'll look forward to receiving your reviews, especially if anyone is willing to narrate please.

Looks really nice!I can't judge the translation personally because of my limited Sahidic knowledge.but looks like you put lot of effort into it.
looking forward to hearing comments from other members

Thank you for sharing
